Café Grill

Café Grill, a Bangladeshi-owned café, serves traditional Sylheti-style food. The café, which opened in the mid-2000s, attracts many local Bangladeshi customers, especially family groups, looking for home-style cuisine.

The menu includes a wide variety of fish and seafood dishes as well as beef, chicken and lamb dishes. As one former Brick Lane restaurateur said of Café Grill,

‘This is not restaurant food, this is like the food you would have at home’.

Café Grill is also a destination for Bangladeshi taxi drivers. Because of the large size of its ground-floor dining area the café is often the preferred choice for meetings organised by local Bangladeshi community activists.  It is open from 11.30am to 11.30pm seven days a week.
