Jasmine

Jasmine is located on the site of a famous Brick Lane curry house, Café Bangla. Café Bangla, which opened in 1997, was famous for its unusual decor, including a large mural of Princess Diana.

The former owner, a well-known anti-racist activist, retired in 2018 and sold the lease to a British-Bangladeshi family, who also own the two neighbouring Aladin restaurants as well as Cinnamon. Jasmine is marketed as serving ‘authentic Indian and Punjabi cuisine’. Because of its keen pricing, the restaurant is a popular destination for Friday-night revellers.
